MARBLE FLOOR CLEANING AND RESTORATION IN FLACKWELL HEATH

Pro StoneClean is a specialist in the time-intensive work of marble floor cleaning and restoration. We are ideally located to provide complete marble services to domestic and commercial properties in and around Flackwell Heath. Marble is a metamorphic rock formed when limestone is exposed to high temperatures and pressures. The calcite forming the limestone is crystallised, creating a denser rock. Marble is known for its heavy veining, timeless natural beauty, and elegance.

With its unique challenges, including porosity and susceptibility to scratching, marble can dull over time if not cared for properly. We are proficient in restoring old and tired-looking marble to its former glory through deep cleaning, stone sealing, stone resurfacing, and stone polishing. Contact us for expert advice and services that can help you maintain your marble floor's beauty for years to come.

OUR MARBLE FLOOR CLEANING PROCESS

Over time, your marble floor will require professional cleaning to remove ingrained soiling to the surface of the stone and the grout lines. The floor will also benefit from regular sealing from an impregnating stone sealer to ensure your floor is fully protected from liquid staining. Here’s how Pro StoneClean does it all for you:

STEP

01

The floor is initially assessed, and any remains of a topical surface sealer will be stripped if required.

STEP

02

Using a quality alkaline cleaner, the floor is cleaned with a heavy-duty rotary floor machine, with either a brush or pad attachment, depending on the type of finish to your floor. Grout lines and edges are cleaned by hand.

STEP

03

Once the floor has been deep cleaned, it is then neutralised, extracted, and sealed using an impregnating stone sealer.

RESTORATION SERVICES (POLISHING AND HONING)

POLISHING

To achieve a polished look on marble, we grind and buff the stone using different diamond abrasives. This starts with a rough grit to fix surface damage like scratches and etch marks, then moves to finer abrasives for a smooth, shiny finish. Polishing reduces the stone's pores, making it less porous and more resistant to stains. However, a high-shine finish can highlight scratches and marks, so it needs regular maintenance to keep it looking its best.

HONING

Honing gives the marble a matte appearance by stopping the process before it becomes shiny. This creates a natural, organic look and feel. But because it doesn't close the pores as much, honed marble is more porous and prone to staining. On the upside, it's less likely to show scratches and marks. Both polished and honed marble need regular sealing and care to protect and preserve their beauty. Applying a stone sealer is essential for this. After allowing the sealer to soak in, we remove any excess and buff the surface for an even finish.
