BASED IN FLACKWELL HEATH BUT COVER A RADIUS OF 40 MILES.
Marble is a metamorphic rock formed when limestone is exposed to high temperatures and pressures, the calcite forming the limestone is crystallised forming a denser rock.
Marble is a soft stone and is known for its heavy veining and its wonderful shine, acids such as vinegar or citrus juices will react with the calcium carbonate in the stone, causing dull spots known as etching, the damaged surface of the stone will need to be repaired using diamond abrasives with mechanical action to repolish and refinish the surface, this will be more noticeable on polished marble rather than a honed surface.
We ask for all your furniture and valuable items to be removed prior to commencement of work.
We will then ensure your walls, skirting and kickboards are suitably protected using plastic sheeting and low tack tape, the floor is then prepared by vacuuming to remove all dry soil and grit.
Using the appropriate professional cleaning solution and floor pad/brush the floor and grout lines are deep cleaned using mechanical agitation, the floor is then rinsed, neutralised and extracted using a high powered wet extraction system.
We will then use a resurfacing technique using various grades of diamond abrasive pads, this process will remove all scratches and etch marks, the floor finish can either be a matt, satin or a high shine mirror-like finish, depending on the clients desired choice of finish. After sealing, we recommend the floor is maintained using a stone soap, alternating with a water-only clean.
Over time the surface of your marble, can become dull, due to general wear and tear, unsuitable cleaning methods and chemicals and etching from spills.
We can bring back the lustre to your marble floors and worktops using mechanical action and diamond abrasive pads.
