BASED IN FLACKWELL HEATH BUT COVER A RADIUS OF 40 MILES.
Similar to limestone, but formed through a different geological process, travertine is the result of the precipitation of calcite from mineral springs, due to this process travertine has numerous pits and holes in its natural unfilled state as a result of the water flowing through the sediment, these holes and pits are either filled at the factory or if desired filled with a grout and resin filler.
The floor can be refinished to remove etching and scratches to either a honed, satin, or semi-polished finish.
We ask for all your furniture and valuable items to be removed prior to commencement of work.
We will then ensure your walls, skirting and kickboards are suitably protected using plastic sheeting and low tack tape, the floor is then prepared by vacuuming to remove all dry soil and grit.
Any old sealer and waxes are stripped back to expose the original floor surface, using the appropriate professional cleaning solution and floor pad/brush the floor and grout lines are deep cleaned using mechanical agitation, the floor is then rinsed, neutralized and extracted using a high powered wet extraction system.
The floor is speed dried using industrial air movers, once the floor is dry, the tile and grout are checked using a moisture meter, the floor can then be sealed using an impregnator seal to protect against oil and staining.
Holes and pitts in unfilled travertine can be difficult to clean and maintain. One of the services we can offer is once the floor is deep cleaned, the holes and pitts can be filled using a resin filler on the larger holes and grout on the smaller pitts, this will help with keeping the floor looking clean, and hygienic, we also offer stone repairs, such as cracks and chips, scratches and etch marks can be removed using diamond abrasive pads and be finished to a honed, satin or semi polished finish.
